Remember in the 70's when geek and nerd referred to electronic hobbyists or HAM radio operators. HAM's became a little more easily accessible with CB radio. But we were still geeks. Here is a pic from a 70's BASIC computer class book.

I have a small collection of computer books from the early 80's. A few program collections. It may be hard to believe but once upon a time you had to type your own programs in. Great way to spend a few dollars for a number of programs.
